Scary Birthday Cake

Good fiends with wicked baking skills and great to have around your birthday. This is the culinary monsterpiece of Mad Marcie and Sinister Steve. How dreadful (in a good way)!

Dark Skies: Review

Dark Skies is slow burn, family-centric horror film that is neither great nor bad. The homage to Poltergeist is very clear from the start, but unfortunately, the script is all safe boiler plate material. The cast does the best they can with the material they're given, and the jump scares are somewhat effective. Well, the ones that the trailer didn't spoil, which is almost all of them. I kept imagining how cool this could have been if the marketing team didn't let everyone know exactly what was causing the paranormal activity. I guess the title sort of gives it away as well. I enjoyed it while I was watching it but forgot it almost instantly which is a very bad sign. At least it ended on a somewhat strong note. This less interesting poster is desperately trying to evoke Insidious .

Raven Van

I need to paint my car with an "unkindness" or "conspiracy" of ravens just like the folks at The Rellik Tavern in Benicia, CA.

Beautiful Creatures: Review

As it turns out Beautiful Creatures is a soapy, witchy, southern-fried good time due mainly to entertaining performances byAlden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert  – and it's MUCH better than its peers (ahem… Twilight ). The effects are a little overtop and distracting, but the veteran cast works well together to ground its literal flights of fancy. This is good film for an outing with that tween niece you've been neglecting.

Herbaria "Fears" Commercial

This amazingly horrific commercial (featuring PENNYWISE!) is for a rather surprising product. Can you guess what it is? Clue: They want you to drown your fears.

Undead Teds

With that "Heart Holiday" coming up, The Raven and the Cat blog  has found the perfect gift for your twisted loved: Undead Teds ! These are hand-made and one-of-a-kind grisly bears, and they are extremely difficult to get.
