Dia de los Muertos is often confused as the “Mexican Halloween.” It is not! Icons like skeletons may be similar but it is a much more spiritual holiday celebrated throughout Latin America. In some regions, it's even a solemn day to spend the day at the cemetery, cleaning the gravestones of the dearly departed. Although there's many places where there are colorful parades and fiestas like those portrayed on tv and film.
