I love a good castle. They're rather ancient, forbidding, and permanent relics of a by-gone era. They're no common in California unless someone like this Napa Valley Winery in Calistoga, CA decides to build one to attract curious visitors. Building started in 1994 and gradually became the 14th Century Tuscan castle that is now, spanning 121,000 square feet, 107 rooms, and four underground levels for the cellars (complete with a torture chamber!). After 15 years, the project was completed and open to the public in 2007. Read more here: https://castellodiamorosa.com/explore/
