The Voudou Juice is Loose!

In Conversation with Joseph A. Federico

Writing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. My journey began in childhood when I crafted a little "newspaper" centered around Swamp Thing and Santa Claus, which I eagerly shared with my family. This early endeavor marked the beginning of my lifelong love for storytelling and creativity.

Halloween and the macabre have always held a special place in my heart. They captivate me because they push us to delve into our innermost feelings and confront our deepest fears. It's fascinating how the stories and symbols of Halloween drive us to reflect on our human experiences, revealing truths about ourselves we might otherwise overlook. The eerie allure of haunted houses, for instance, serves as a metaphor for our internal struggles, urging us to confront and resolve the fears we carry within. For me, Halloween is not just about the thrill of fear; it represents a beacon of hope and self-discovery.

In my writing career, I’ve had the opportunity to publish three books, and I'm currently immersed in the creation of the third installment of my "Voudou Juice" series, which is set for release later this year. This series has been a labor of love, deeply influenced by my admiration for New Orleans and the Southern United States. The vibrant culture, rich history, and mystical atmosphere of New Orleans provide endless inspiration. Experiencing the city during Halloween is truly magical; the energy is unmatched, and it feels like the perfect backdrop for tales of the mysterious and the supernatural.

Voudou Juice was published in April 2017. It's a fantastical journey that takes readers back in time to both 18th-century and 2014 New Orleans. Follow Riley Clarke as he combats familial issues, ancient Voodoo spirits that live in the swampland and most importantly, himself.

What lies in the dark may be the best remedy... Join Cody Shrine, III as he overcomes self-doubt and fights the forces of evil, set to a backdrop of unimaginable beauty in 1920s New Orleans.
